Marinos Cleanthous, Director of IP CYPRUS will be one of the speakers of the coming academic legal event entitled “Geographic Indications: Legal Framework and the Challenges Ahead”
A geographical indication is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin.
Cyprus, as the homeland of many traditional world known goods , such as halloumi cheese, zivania wine and kumantaria, has a number of very important rights and potentials that the local should be aware of!
In a globalized economy, encouraging and supporting the local production of unique traditional goods, can be an excellent tool for economic and cultural development!
The event will take place at the European University , Room 208, on Monday 24th October 2016 at 17:45
